UNION PLANNING NEWS!
By now you have received the Merger Action Team’s exciting recommendation, that PSCC pursue union around a common vision of transformation, with the Congregational Church of West Medford, UCC. (If you haven’t – please ask Reebee or a member of the MAT for a copy.) This month, it’s our goal to have both congregations get to know each other better, and gain a better understanding of “transformation.” At Annual Meeting June 4, there will be a vote to pursue good faith negotiations with West Medford, which would happen over the summer, leading to a consolidation vote and implementation in the fall. Here are just a few things that will be happening in June:
Every Sunday: Members of both churches are invited to cross the river and visit. Worship at both churches is at 10:00. After worship at CCWM, there is a weekly community luncheon at about 11:30 – free and open to the community. You could even go to lunch at CCWM after worshiping at PSCC!
May 6, 20, 27, and June 3, June 17 @ 7PM in the PSCC parlor. Adult Education series: The Scandalous Gospel of Jesus by Peter Gomes – led by Terry McKinney, CCWM folks are invited.
June 11 (NOTE DATE CHANGE) – Friday 6:30pm Social Event @ PSCC – sponsored by our “Joy Team” – potluck/game night maybe even square dancing, who knows? Definitely a good time!
TBD – Evening Hymn Sing – @ CCWM – 6:30 Dessert will be Served; 7:00 Hymn Sing
June 20 – Afternoon Visioning Retreat – RSVP to Pastor Reebee or Pastor Steven!
A Union Planning Team will be working closely together through the summer on the details of our Union process. And, Pastor Steven from West Medford and Pastor Reebee will be working together, doing Bible Study together and brainstorming.
